Growing Women-Led Micro and Small Businesses
关于我们
CARE operates in 104 countries and has a long history of focusing on women and girls. CARE’s entrepreneurship and financial inclusion programming offers a combination of services – both financial and non-financial – that are essential to creating sustainable growth and empowerment for women entrepreneurs. Our market-based approach – working with local financial service providers – ensures that the products and services supporting these entrepreneurs are both sustainable and scalable in the long-term and puts women at the center. Women's Entrepreneurship (WE) at CARE aims to improve the financial security and economic empowerment for over 3 million entrepreneurs and employees, primarily women-led businesses, reach 30 million people, and mobilize more than $500m USD in private capital by 2030. We have a global presence, with current programs operating in Vietnam, Peru, Pakistan, and the Czech Republic.

?? This piece I wrote for Business Fights Poverty reflects a reality we cannot ignore: women entrepreneurs are not lacking confidence; they’re held back by systems that fail to serve them. #Data from our recent #StriveWomen research shows that 96% of women entrepreneurs feel confident in growing their businesses, and 87% have ambitions to grow, but systemic barriers like unfair financing, digital gaps, and a lack of networks create unnecessary hurdles in their path. ?? Women-centered design is not only smart—it’s transformative. Let's shift systems to match the ambitions of women entrepreneurs. When we think of confident entrepreneurs, we often picture Silicon Valley tech leaders or corporate executives. Yet, a powerful force is emerging globally: women entrepreneurs from the Global Majority, who are driving sustainable businesses with remarkable vision and resilience. Despite representing only 25% of high-growth entrepreneurs, they possess high confidence in their abilities. However, systemic barriers, not personal shortcomings, limit their access to critical financial resources, highlighting the urgent need for support and investment in their potential.
