Care Ring

It’s Tuesday! That means our friends from NC MedAssist are here to help our Clinic and Physicians Reach Out patients get enrolled into their services for free medications that they otherwise couldn’t afford, which supports their overall health and compliance with treatment plans. They are also loving the meeting room at our new location, which is more spacious and has a window, creating a more welcoming and bright environment.

Great retreat with our Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors on Friday! Thank you to The Leon Levine Foundation for use of their beautiful new nonprofit community meeting space and to TLLF President Tom Lawrence for stopping by to say hello. “Art is medicine” - perfectly said Wendy Hickey. Did you know access to art can improve Social Determinants of Health? We hope this mural in our new space by artist Javon Jeter will be calming and cognitively stimulating for our patients. And, we hope they see a reflection of themselves, as we were very intentional about the images portrayed. Javon, thank you for sharing your creative gifts with us. You captured the essence of our organization and those we serve. It certainly evoked emotion from many. The embedded meaning behind some of the images was very special. ?? I will tell this story until my voice no longer allows. Nearly 20 years ago, as a recently unemployed single mother, I knocked on the door of Morris Berg Architects seeking employment. The administrative assistant role I was placed in off an on for several years allowed me to continue my part time education. Three years ago, I ran into Todd Berg at Community Matters Cafe and after sharing with him my leadership journey since last meet, the firm quickly became a Care Ring corporate sponsor in support of our mission and vision. Later, when Care Ring choose to take our leap of faith to build out our new space, they agreed to serve as our architect firm. They truly designed a space for us with love. I will forever be grateful for the kindness and opportunity afforded to me that day by Mr. Berg and the late Kieth Morris. This is a full circle moment that will be etched in my mind and heart forever. Never neglect to show kindness to strangers. Who knows the impact you might have. ??

Thanks to WSOC-TV Eyewitness News and Damany Lewis for visiting us while finishing touches were made to our new home the other week to learn more about our move and how our new larger location will accommodate our growth and ability to serve our patients and the community more robustly. We were thrilled so many of our funders for our new home could be with us for our ribbon cutting. It means so much that they invested in our vision and care about the health of our community.

Having a great IT team is crucial to any business’s success. We have been incredibly fortunate to have found Divergent IT, Matthew Galimi and his team. Their collaboration, knowledge and passion have ensured that we have the latest tech resources to serve our patients efficiently and effectively and will be at our side as our provider. Fun Fact: they installed 192 data connections in our new space!

We could not have been more pleased with the relationship with and quality of work by Harker on our new home. They were with us every step of the way, ensuring our new space was executed flawlessly. Everyone on the team, from the administrative staff to the job site supervisors and of course the hard working construction crew, were awesome!
