Greater Lehigh Valley Healthcare Alliance is proud to support a mission that complements the important work of groups like the Lehigh Valley Aging in Place Coalition. While LVAIP focuses on ensuring that aging adults can access resources to live independently and thrive at home, GLVHA broadens this mission to include all stages of life and various aspects of health - as well as expanding to the communities that rely on & travel to the Lehigh Valley for care. GLVHA is building a network that spans not only senior care but also specialties such as pediatric care, behavioral health, kidney care, oncology, rehabilitation, and chronic disease management. By connecting providers and resources across diverse fields, we’re working to address the needs of entire families and all age groups within our region. Our efforts are additive to those of LVAIP—rather than duplicating services, we’re expanding the available support system to include everyone, from young families to seniors. By fostering collaboration across specialties and communities, we help make the Lehigh Valley a place where people of all ages can access the care and resources they need to live well. Together, organizations like Greater Lehigh Valley Healthcare Alliance and Lehigh Valley Aging in Place Coalition are shaping a stronger, healthier community.

This expanded network strengthens our impact. Together, we’re increasing access to high-quality healthcare, improving outcomes, and creating a healthier future for everyone in the Greater Lehigh Valley. At GLVHA, we believe that when we broaden our partnerships, we build a healthier, more resilient community for all.

Today, I'm grateful to honor my grandfather, John Gilligan, whose service didn’t end when he left the military. When he returned home, he started a second career in nursing, dedicating himself to improving the lives of seniors, especially those with memory impairment, at Southampton Estates (an Acts Retirement-Life Communities, Inc.) My grandfather was more than a nurse—he was a changemaker. He played a huge role in creating the dementia unit & lead the development of a unique sensory space at his community, known as the Snoezelen room. He built real relationships with his residents, many of whom would ask for him by name. His work earned him the LeadingAge Joan Ann McHugh Award for Leadership, recognizing his commitment to a high standard of compassionate care. Today, I honor not just the sacrifices of veterans but the quiet impact they continue to make. Veterans like my grandfather inspire my mission at Care Connect - Senior Living Made Simple—to serve with heart, improve lives, and advocate for those in need.
