On Election Day, Washington voters decided to uphold the Climate Commitment Act, which will accelerate carbon reductions and the state’s energy transition. This was an important decision for the planet that will also advance Washington’s clean energy economy. For some of the emitters in the state, carbon capture and sequestration will be a key mitigation strategy. With the law affirmed, we look forward to working with partners in Spokane and throughout Washington on the critical work of decarbonizing the infrastructure assets across the Evergreen State. We also encourage the state to set up a robust mineralization and sequestration program that will make use of its unique geology to safely mineralize or store CO2. Our?SVP of Strategy, Market Development, and Sustainability Anna Pavlova spoke with?Data Centre Magazine’s Helen Sydney Adams to discuss CarbonQuest’s distributed #carboncapture technology. We are excited to partner with Eastern Washington University to develop a #carboncapture solution for the campus’s natural gas-powered steam heating system. As part of the Washington Climate Commitment Act, EWU was granted $2.2 million to advance the state’s clean energy goals. We are honored that CarbonQuest was identified as a local partner to help the university meet its environmental goals through our carbon capture technology. This project will support the university’s work to become a leader in sustainable practices while providing hands-on learning opportunities for students at the school. CO2 Value Europe recently published a thorough report about how scaling #carboncapture and utilization (CCU) technologies can reduce emissions by at least 20%. According to the report, many industries require renewable feedstocks, like recycled CO2, to meet demands for sustainable fuels, chemicals, and materials. CarbonQuest is committed to scaling CO2 utilization. We’re currently working with manufacturers like @Glenwood Mason to inject captured CO2 into concrete, and are advancing partnerships with companies in sustainable aviation fuel, plastic replacements, and more to support their decarbonization efforts with our Sustainable CO2?.
