Greenlyte Carbon Technologies has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Düsseldorf Airport to develop the world's first integrated Direct Air Capture to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (DAC-to-SAF) facility. This innovative project will capture CO? directly from the atmosphere and convert it into sustainable aviation fuel on-site. The SAF Reallabor facility is set to produce up to 250 tons of SAF per year, contributing to the production of low-emission fuels that could significantly reduce the aviation industry's carbon footprint. Through this project, Greenlyte is supporting Düsseldorf Airport’s bold Masterplan 2045, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2035. ? We are proud to support Greenlyte's mission since the very early days.

This groundbreaking project will enable direct air capture of CO? and, through Greenlyte's technology, simultaneously produce green hydrogen and convert it into sustainable aviation fuel all on-site at the airport. Once operational, the plant will contribute to the production of low-emission fuels that could significantly reduce the aviation industry’s carbon footprint. The partnership was officially announced at Düsseldorf Airport's annual New Year's reception in front of 800 attendees, including important guests such as Mona Neubaur (Minister for Economic Affairs of NRW), Oliver Krischer (Minister for Environment of NRW), and Dr. Stephan Keller (Mayor of Düsseldorf). The SAF Reallabor is a central part of the airport’s ambitious 2045 Masterplan, which outlines a bold strategy for sustainability and modern operations, backed by a total investment of €1 billion. This plan was initially unveiled during the event, including the SAF Reallabor in collaboration with Greenlyte.
