?? Bridging Two Worlds: Healthtech & Care Delivery ?? After years leading healthtech product teams and working on innovative solutions, I made the leap back into clinical care. What I found was eye-opening: the skills I developed in product leadership -- data-driven decision-making, customer obsession, and continuous improvement -- are just as critical in running high-performing urgent care clinics. In this article, I share insights on how my experience in healthtech has transformed the way I approach patient care, clinic operations, and leadership in a tech-forward healthcare organization. If you're passionate about leveraging tech to enhance patient care, I’d love to hear your thoughts!?? Carbon Health

Crises test our strength and highlight what makes us exceptional. During the Los Angels wildfires, our local teams rose to the occasion with compassion and resilience. We're proud to share this perspective from our Chief Medical Officer Sujal Mandavia, MD, FRCP(C), FACEP on how our people supported each other and their communities over the last week.
At Carbon Health, I recently shared this internal memo to recognize the incredible dedication of our team during the #LosAngeles #fires. It’s a testament to the strength of our people. If you are a healthcare leader in Los Angeles,I invite you to post your own recognition. I know we are not alone in having a badass team. I was reflecting on the events of this past week and felt compelled to share some of my thoughts and observations. Your spontaneous initiatives to provide masks and water to local shelters, maintain clinic hours, and support evacuated colleagues exemplify why we chose healthcare as our calling. Despite facing personal challenges, evacuations, and losses, you have consistently shown up for our patients and each other with remarkable resilience and determination. In moments like these, we are reminded that healthcare isn't just about treating illness—it's about being there for our community when they need us most. It’s not just “showing up” that defines who we are in healthcare. It’s showing up with empathy, compassion, and expertise, even when we are not personally having a great day. While that occurs each day in our clinics due to? "routine" personal stressors, you did that in a big way during this challenging past week. This spirit of service takes me back to our response during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly Carbon Health’s mass vaccination effort at Dodger Stadium. Just as we came together then to protect our community at an unprecedented scale, you are now rising to meet another critical challenge. The same dedication that helped us administer thousands of vaccines daily is evident in how we are all supporting our neighbors through this wildfire crisis. The decision to enter healthcare is often driven by a deep desire to make a difference in people's lives. During crises like these, when our communities are most vulnerable, your actions reaffirm and reinvigorate that purpose. You show that healthcare is fundamentally about humanity, compassion, and being present for others in their time of need. To each of you who has worked extra hours, covered for an evacuated colleague, or offered a kind word to a distressed patient—thank you. To those who have maintained their commitment to healing while managing personal losses and disruptions—your strength inspires us all. You make me incredibly proud to be a part of this profession. Your families and communities should know that they have true heroes in their midst. Heroes who don't wear capes, but who wear scrubs and masks; who don't leap tall buildings, but who overcome countless obstacles to ensure our community receives the care they deserve. Thank you for choosing to be part of healthcare in Los Angeles. Thank you for embodying a mission of accessible healthcare, even in the most challenging circumstances. Above all, thank you for being the heroes our community needs right now. With deep gratitude and admiration, Sujal
