Thoughts from the CA CCUS Forum from Amena H. Saiyid of Cipher News, with input from Carbon Capture Machine (CCM)'s CEO, Lance A. Scott...
I had the great pleasure to attend the recent CA CCUS Forum (The Future of CCUS 2025) in beautiful Torey Pines, California. The event gathered the leading #carboncapture #innovators, #entrepreneurs, #executives, #investors, #media, and #thoughtleaders to assess the present market conditions and prepare for an incredibly exciting future for this rapidly emerging market. The atmosphere was incredibly collegial and transparent, and I never once felt like I was speaking with a “competitor” or forced to march a party line. In fact, we welcomed one another’s tough questions and openly debated sensitive issues like #rebranding to highlight our impact on #criticalminerals, #jobcreation, #advancedmanufacturing, #energydominance, #nationalsecurity…and, oh yeah, #SavingthePlanet. ?? Amena H. Saiyid of Cipher News wrote this excellent synopsis of the event and I encourage you to read the industry’s comments on a wide ranging collection of topics, and engage with your local and national political leaders to support the ongoing efforts of this amazing group. I’m very pleased to have my position quoted in the article - “In the meantime, developers and investors say the carbon management sector needs to tout itself as a viable business creating products like concrete, rather than as a climate technology reliant on federal handouts,” said Lance A. Scott, chief executive officer of startup Carbon Capture Machine (CCM), which captures and converts CO2 into valuable minerals like limestone. “We’ve got to rebrand this industry away from the perception of a costly environmental solution toward the reality that we’re a more cost-effective, job creating, economic engine for American leadership and national security,” Scott added. It’s an honor to speak on behalf of Carbon Capture Machine (CCM) and our team who are working around rhe clock in the face of inconceivable funding delays from the US, UK, and EC. We should all be thankful for employees and stakeholders that continue to keep their eyes on the ultimate vision for a cleaner, healthier, and more affordable future. https://lnkd.in/eKUJf36H
