Massive Congratulations to Stowe Electric Department on Their USDA Contract! A huge shoutout to Stowe Electric Department in Stowe, Vermont, for securing a USDA contract to complete the Smiths Falls Hydropower Project! This is a monumental step for the town and the utility, and I couldn’t be more excited to see the positive impact it will have. It’s rare to see utilities taking bold steps to push the needle on renewable energy projects. Stowe Electric is setting an example for what’s possible when driven, passionate people come together to innovate for a sustainable future. I had the privilege of meeting a few of the linemen from the utility, and the experience was both educational and inspiring. Among other things, I finally met people who were equally jazzed about wiring of all types, including the kind that connects houses to the electrical grid. Check out this 100-amp service aluminum alloy wire, this is what keeps your house connected to power! The conversations were rich, the insights invaluable, and the people unforgettable. I’m looking forward to following this project’s progress and the difference it will undoubtedly make for Stowe and beyond. Congratulations again to the entire Stowe Electric team! Here’s to innovation, impact, and a greener future. #RenewableEnergy #Hydroelectric #StoweElectric #USDA

The Energy Storage Grand Challenge was a remarkable event, filled with thought-provoking discussions. But the standout moment? Gene Rodrigues playfully correcting the prolific writer Eric Hsieh—suggesting that there was a "major spelling error" with ESGC and it should actually be ESGsR, with an "s" for multiple challenges and an "R" for Revolution! Let’s go, Gene!??? ?The "Revolution" has officially begun! One clear takeaway from the three days: LDES is undoubtedly the next step for our world. We have a lot of work ahead, but I’m more confident than ever that we’re on the path to transformative change. A huge thank you to Sue Babinec for leading the conference, and best wishes to Vincent Sprenkle for a speedy recovery! Thank you to all the organizers for putting on a great show. Now is the time to make a difference. Let’s keep pushing forward!??? ?? The obviously very photogenic Waylon C. and Luke McLaughlin #EnergyRevolution #ESGC #DOE #EnergyStorage #Innovation

Last week was incredibly productive at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Peer Review.?The week kicked off with a powerful challenge from our fearless leader, Mohamed Kamaludeen, PhD, urging us all to rethink the status quo. One thing was made clear: from scientists to leadership, everyone is laser-focused on solving the global energy challenge. We saw some intriguing results on sodium-ion battery safety—based on the videos and supporting data, they seem to have similar safety challenges as lithium. Stay tuned for more data. A special shoutout to the unparalleled Sandia National Laboratories team for organizing an outstanding conference. And no worries, Jeremy Twitchell is on top of all the policy issues surrounding LDES and SATA—no big deal. The future looks bright with Debayon Dutta and Patrick Yang leading the zinc battery movement—they’ll definitely be teaching Tim Vosburgh a thing or two! Huge thanks to Will McNamara, PMP for leading the conference, and to all the organizers for their countless hours behind the scenes, especially Dylan Poindexter and the infamous Sharon Ruiz, for making everything happen.

More big news for CapyBara Energy! We were selected for the DOE LIFTOFF! We’re so grateful to all the excellent people at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) who are leading our country toward energy security and resilience. And, of course, the team at Capybara Energy—we couldn’t be more proud. We’re excited to demonstrate a fully off-grid industrial remediation of mine tailings in Essex County, New York, and advance the world’s most sustainable long-duration energy storage solution. Huge thanks to Eric Hsieh for the announcement, the LIFTOFF team, including our fearless leader Vinod Siberry, who is paving the way for a cleaner tomorrow, the DOE, and all the dedicated individuals at the Office of Electricity and National Energy Technology Laboratory for their unwavering support and tireless hours. https://lnkd.in/ebuH-7yt
