We had an amazing time presenting at CERAWeek in the Ion Pitch Preview! We were inspired by the startups, corporates, and investors solving the energy and emissions challenges facing us today. ? Capwell was excited to contribute with our methane capture solution for upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities. We enjoyed chatting with investors and customers and are looking forward to further engagements with our new connections. If you're interested in learning more about our pitch and facility applications, please reach out to [email protected]. ? We'd like to thank Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, Houston Energy Transition Initiative (HETI), TEX-E, and Ion Houston for organizing this event.

We are excited to announce that Capwell Services has been awarded a grant as part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) initiative to reduce methane emissions in the oil and gas sector. The Methane Emissions Reduction Program aims to position the United States as the most efficient producer of oil and natural gas in the world while lowering methane emissions and protecting communities across the country. Our project, “Methane Emissions Abatement Technology for Low-Flow and Intermittent Emission Sources,” will field-test a methane abatement unit that can address vents and leaks at upstream facilities across the oil and gas sector. Additionally, the project is intended to improve air quality and health outcomes for communities near production facilities and establish field technician internships for local residents and underrepresented communities. We are honored to be one of 20 private companies selected as part of this landmark program and look forward to driving innovation in the methane mitigation space. The dust has finally settled after the first ever Houston Energy and Climate Startup Week, which brought together and showcased the most innovative companies and technologies that are driving the energy industry to a low-carbon future. Capwell Services was represented at various events throughout the week, most notably the 21st annual Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship Energy Tech Venture Forum. Methane emissions took center stage, with opening keynote speaker David Baldwin identifying methane abatement from energy production as one of the “big four opportunities” with high viability and sufficient technological and economic readiness to markedly reduce carbon emissions in the next decade. As the culmination of Capwell’s involvement in the Rice Alliance Clean Energy Accelerator Class 4, CEO Andrew Lane pitched during the afternoon demo day session of the Energy Tech Venture Forum along with the eleven other companies in the Class 4 cohort. We would like to extend a thank you once again to the Clean Energy Accelerator Leadership team (Kerri Smith, Matthew Pe?a, and Chelsea Wessels-Self) as well as the fantastic Executives in Residence (Tim Franklin-Hensler, John Jeffers, Ritu Sachdeva, and Nick Tillmann) for their hard work and guidance throughout the course of the accelerator program.
