??New compilation is out!??Welcome to the sexual pleasure collection- featuring conversations around communication during sex, self-love, and BDSM! Check out our favorite quotes from the speakers below! “Our lovers, our partners, our communities, our cultures- it's doing something so much more than just making more humans. And that's the complicated part- it's hard for people to talk about because there's still this lingering sense that sex for pleasure is somehow illegitimate”?-Dan Savage “To start loving me I had to learn what it is to love Michelle. The trauma that I came from and the trauma that I endured, it was giving me these definitions that I know that were not me. I did not let my diagnosis as a woman with HIV be a barrier to me learning about myself going back to school.”-Michelle Lopez “This is where kink and its emphasis on communication and its emphasis on sex positivity and its emphasis on being pleasure-based as opposed to risk and disease and death-based is where we can learn.”-Rodney McCoy Listen in to hear more about the different facets of pleasure from guest speakers Dan Savage, Dr. Ina Park, Michelle Lopez, and Rodney McCoy. In this episode, our speakers dive into the unique ways in which both partners and providers can utilize honest conversations to knock down barriers, explore sex, and discover pleasure. We also explore the importance of heritage and advocacy in overcoming trauma and fighting societal stigmatization. And of course- be sure to check out the discussion about the unique intersection between BDSM, kink, and HIV prevention!

Check out the last episode of Coming Together for Sexual Health. Midwives do more than birth! Hear from Bethany Golden on the role midwives play in primary care and sexual/reproductive care across the lifespan.
Midwives do more than birth! Listen in to my great conversation with Bethany Golden, RN CNM PhD, nurse midwife & PhD, about the patient-centered primary and sexual health care that midwives provide across the age span: "When we think about how often are certified nurse-midwives doing sexual and reproductive health, there was a study done of 7,184 certified nurse-midwives...55.1% said that they were providing reproductive healthcare, and 38.5% offered primary care services as part of their employment. Now on top of that, when there was another study...76% of midwives said they offered reproductive health services, and 49% said they provided primary care. This is a large portion of what we do. So the public perception, even what is promoted in our own circles, and I can speak to this, is that we are doing pregnancy-related care. That is part of what we do, but we spend a lot of time focused on other moments in people's lives." Local expert, Monica Gandhi, MD, who has worked in hashtag #HIV for decades (and was a key player in COVID-19 discussions), joins us to talk about providing HIV care. Listen in to our latest episode anywhere you get your podcasts. Learn from Dr. Gandhi's leadership in implementing groundbreaking medical advances. She discusses the science behind HIV (including how 7 people have been cured), the shift from complex pill regimes to long-acting injectable therapies, and how these innovations help patients facing medication challenges. In today's environment, she encourages us to maintain the trend of bipartisan support for HIV funding. For Monica, HIV is not just an infection, but a movement driving healthcare and equity forward.
