Message to my backers. Please share! -- So as of this morning on January 20th, our Kickstarter campaign is officially funded. I only promoted in earnest since 2025 began, so it took about three weeks to fundraise $2000 CAD. Incredible. If I was with you lovely backers in person, I would offer you a champagne flute right now. We did it! And it's all because of you! Thank you! But, we're not done yet. You see, the Kickstarter campaign is running until February 11th. And there are stretch goals. Most successful Kickstarters have stretch goals. Here are mine: $6000 CAD will guarantee an audiobook in addition to the eBook. I will actually take a week out of my life to use this fancy Audio Technica microphone that the Open Institute of Technology bought me, and I will narrate every single word in my book in my dorky voice. My romantic partner is a music recording professional, and he can make sure that my audiobook recordings are professional quality. From there, every single backer will have the option to download the audiobook in addition to the eBook. And the audiobook will be commercially sold on Audible and Audiobooks.com. It will likely be available in Google Play Books as well. $10,000 CAD is the dream stretch goal. If that goal is met, there will also be an eBook in a non-English language. You backers would get to vote on which non-English language you choose. Then I will pay a professional human translator to do the work. Details of which translation agencies I may use are in the Story section of the Kickstarter page. The (English language) eBook will probably be published by late March, early April judging by the progress I'm making writing it. I have four chapters and nearly 50 pages completely written. The worst case scenario now is that the eBook will be published in May, considering contingencies. Like, if one of the companies I work for or my school overloads me with other work. But the eBook is definitely happening! If the audiobook stretch goal is met, it will probably arrive a month after the eBook. Unlike the eBook, the audiobook isn't guaranteed. The stretch goal needs to be met! If the non-English eBook stretch goal is met, that will take longer to fulfill. Because unlike the English eBook and audiobook, I will be paying someone else to do the work. Expect it to come out a few months after the English eBook as a best case scenario. So, now that the English eBook is a sure thing, let's make the audiobook a sure thing too. Please, please, please share my Kickstarter on your social media again. Share this post!
