There’s no doubt that all 100,000 students in Memphis have the ability to read at or above grade level. CEG is excited to partner with the Memphis Literary Institute to train our teachers in the science of reading. We believe that this approach will transform our approach to reading and create a blueprint for other schools in our city to follow.

Self-control - otherwise known as “just another day” at CEG! Studies show that children who have self-control are more likely to have higher SAT scores, self-esteem, and social competence. Although self-control can be impacted by genetics, research suggests that school environments are largely responsible for the differences in self-control between students.
