This week St. John Properties and Somerset Companies hosted a ribbon cutting celebration for the Aspen at Melford Town Center --?a new luxury apartment community in Bowie, Maryland.?

We were joined by members of the community’s development and management teams, as well as representatives from the city of Bowie and Prince George’s County, and remarks were delivered by Prince George’s County Council Chair Jolene Ivey, and Prince George’s County Councilwoman Ingrid Watson.?

The 388-unit Aspen features best-in-class, oversized living spaces, and tenant amenities include a resort-style saltwater pool, pickleball courts, community room with billiards lounge, pet spa and indoor dog park, state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga studio, bike storage and repair room, and a movie theater.

The Aspen was designed for LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, and includes our largest rooftop solar array to date, which will generate over 693 megawatts this year.

On completion, Melford Town Center will include more than 1,700 residential units, and have over 6,500 employees working in the 1+ mil. square feet of commercial space. The community will produce $16 mil. in annual property taxes, and have a real estate value exceeding $1 bil.
