Just under 2 weeks ago, I was hit with the brutal reality of life. The one I looked up to, who created a better life for me and many others and the one I called dad passed away. After a 7 month battle with pancreatic cancer, the battle was lost. As I navigate this new reality of life with a heavy heart and great sadness, I also stand with immense pride. My dad’s legacy extends beyond my direct family. Having started and grown our company, Capital Investment Advisors, he has left a lasting impact on more than 100 team members and over 4,600 families. He has dedicated his life to help others create a better life. He lived by many values which encompass our company core values and will live on for decades to come. Dad cared deeply, he loved greatly, he gave every person a chance and he believed in people so long as they exhibit honesty, loyalty and trust. He certainly marched to his own beat, but he never shied away from allowing others to join the parade. Our family, our company and his families served mourn deeply. But we all stand with pride and appreciation for having known Mike Reiner. For we are better because of this. And we gain strength in knowing that dad will want us all to move forward. Which is what we shall do, despite the heavy heart and gaping hole. Thank you Dad! I miss you and love you, forever.
