Working at a Black-Owned enterprise serving their community on Juneteenth made me forget that the rest of the country had the day off ?? Juneteenth at Mary and Main was absolutely amazing. I organized the day with a few activities to enrich our community, like two free line dancing classes, a Black-Owned business pop-up shop, and, of course, Double Dutch! We made sure to spotlight Black-Owned Canna brands by incentivizing each purchase with a 20% return discount. We even had a meet-and-greet with the brands' owners and reps! Did I mention we also secured a sponsorship with Capital City to distribute 100 FREE BOTTLES of their signature Mambo Sauce - a DC staple now available in Costco! Mary and Main is such a pillar of the Capitol Heights community and I am so happy to be able to use our space to provide family-friendly activities, resources, and a post to the local economy. Thank you to all of our partners and the over 700 supporters who came out yesterday to support us.
