Last week's TAWWA + WEAT Member Appreciation Social was one for the books! 85 members of CAC TAWWA and CTS WEAT gathered on the rooftop patio of Speakeasy Austin on September 19th to enjoy food, drinks, and networking, all while supporting a good cause. The event included a silent auction which raised over $2,000 for the TAWWA SETH program, which covers basic water training courses for high school students to aid in the passing of the TCEQ Class D Certified Water Operator exam. The silent auction was made possible thanks to the generosity of local businesses who donated over $5,000 worth of items for the auction. For the first time, the event also included a cornhole tournament and six teams competed for a chance to win some great prizes. ?? Nine of our young professionals volunteered at the Central Texas Food Bank on the afternoon of Saturday, July 13, working in teams with other volunteers to sort through donated dried goods, discard unusable donations, assemble and break down boxes in the CTFB warehouse. Collectively, their shift provided 180 boxes of food (4,500 pounds or ~3,750 meals) for folks across Central Texas. Thank you to all volunteers!
