Apartments: 370 Architect: Rhode Partners The Independent is a residential skyscraper in Austin, Texas. At a height of 690 ft (210m), it is the second tallest building in the city. The building was proposed in 2014, construction began in 2016, and was completed in spring 2019. It has 58 floors, 370 condos, and it has been nicknamed the "Jenga Tower", and the "Tetris Tower". The 9th floor contains amenities such as a heated pool, club room, playground, and dog park, while the 34th floor contains a fitness center, yoga deck, and an outdoor lounge. The project, designed by Sieger Suarez Architects and developed by PMG, Greybrook Realty Partners, Mohari Hospitality, and S2 Development, is making impressive strides. Capform Inc. is leading the charge with the construction of the concrete shell, and we’re excited to capture the project as it continues to take shape. From the cantilever now in place to the ongoing rise of the second cube, it’s an exciting time for the Miami skyline.
