Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) Enforcement Paused ?? On March 2, 2025, the U.S. Department of Treasury announced that it will not enforce the CTA under current deadlines (March 21, 2025) and will not impose fines or penalties on U.S. citizens or domestic reporting companies. Treasury also plans to limit CTA reporting to foreign companies only, though this may conflict with the law’s original language. Meanwhile, key lawsuits, including Texas Top Cop Shop v. Bondi, continue to challenge the CTA, with a major hearing set for March 25, 2025. For a full breakdown of what this means for your business, read the latest insights from Laura Krebs Al-Shathir & Timothy Schweiss here: https://lnkd.in/gb9D57S4. #CTA #FinCEN #CorporateTransparencyAct #Compliance

The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) is back in effect. On February 17, 2025, a federal court lifted the nationwide injunction, meaning Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements are now enforceable for most LLCs, corporations, and similar entities. While FinCEN may revise the reporting rules later this year, businesses must comply now to avoid penalties. Brian Sabin breaks down what this means for businesses in his latest blog post—read it here: https://lnkd.in/gCgS4sjH.
