We want to wish a huge congratulations to Lindsey Neely, LMSW, our new Community Education Manager. In addition to interning with our Community Education department for the past year, Lindsey has also been the Program Support Specialist at our Blue Ridge office. She's worn lots of hats and helped every one of our programs to be more successful and better serve our community. Lindsey said, "I was able to combine my love for community service and education with CAPA's focus on people and strengths. Working in Community Education has been a true passion for me, and I think that shows in my dedication." Lindsey, we're overjoyed to have you as our new Community Education Manager. Last night, I was blessed to have an incredible night with a few members of the BEST team anyone could wish for. The Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA) is truly blessed to have a supportive board of directors, empathetic and passionate staff, and the most amazing community partners like the Truman Heartland Community Foundation. We were so honored to receive the Heartland Service Award. The night was made extra special by getting to share space with my sister and mentor Rochelle P.. I have appreciated learning from her the power and freedom of showing up everywhere (the office, board rooms, galas, Target, the hair salon, etc.) as my full, deeply connected, authentic self. A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Eastern Independence for selecting us as the Charity of Choice for the 2024 #IndependenceUncorked WineFest! We're so excited that Brittany Talley, MA, LCPC, LPC, RPT-S has joined us as our new Director of Clinical Services. In this role, she'll oversee all of our therapists as well as our?robust internship program. As a Play Therapist?, Brittany believes play is for everyone and uses play therapy with clients of all ages. We're truly grateful for and inspired by the journey we're on with Stephenie K Smith, MSW and Sophic Solutions. Last Friday, we had our fall retreat, hosted in the Children's Services Fund of Jackson County Community Room. The work is humbling, rewarding, and ongoing.

Today we're celebrating Amanda Jackson's first CAPAversary! Technically she's been with CAPA for almost five years, but we're thrilled to celebrate her first year since returning to CAPA as our VP of Development and Communications. Amanda shared that her biggest professional achievement this year was when Crux KC selected CAPA as a 2024 Crux for a Cause partner. "This was the first time they picked two nonprofits! I am really proud of that and excited about our work with them." When asked about her favorite part of working in development and communications, Amanda said, "It’s all about building real, trusting relationships. I get to meet and collaborate with some of the most inspiring and passionate people, and together we get to be creative and make a difference. Honestly, I feel so lucky to do this work." We're so lucky to have you here at CAPA, Amanda! We wouldn't be where we are today without your inspiration, passion, and creativity.
