Last week, during #LATechWeek I had the absolute distinguished honor to sit down with California State Controller Malia Cohen to discuss how best to unlock capital for women. We know it's the greatest opportunity we have to move an innovative economy forward and doing it together with both the private and public sectors are critical. Teal Health, a woman-led company focused on cervical cancer screening, has been awarded a $1.68 million Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Direct to Phase II Grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of The National Institutes of Health. The grant will support the development and clinical validation of the Teal Wand, a device designed for at-home collection of vaginal samples for human papillomavirus (HPV) testing. ?? ?? "We’re honored that the NIH recognizes the importance of our at-home screening technology in increasing access to preventive care and cancer screenings for women in the US.
