Greg joined Canyon Home Care & Hospice about two years ago and has made a significant impact as a Physical Therapist at our Roosevelt, UT branch. He appreciates the positive, patient-first attitude of his co-workers, which contributes to the supportive and collaborative work environment here. Greg values the flexibility that home health provides, allowing him to tailor his approach to meet the needs of each patient. Driven by the support of his family and colleagues, Greg is motivated to give his best every day. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and keeping up with their children's various activities. A fun fact about Greg is that he can fold a fitted sheet—a skill not everyone possesses! If he could have a superpower, he would choose the ability to pause time, so he could cherish every moment with his family and maintain good health.

"Independence Day, the day that 13 colonies said enough and the day that our forefathers officially declared we would no longer be subjected to an oppressive monarchy on distant shores. Independence Day is a day of frivolity, of hot dogs, of celebration, of family and fireworks and also a day that has been paid for with the lives of patriots defending and preserving that right to be free of oppression. It is also a day of remembering beach landings; and a time to remember nights of recon patrols behind enemy lines and desperately calling for medevacs; and waiting to hear the pounding of the helicopter’s rotors. Independence Day, we now call “The Fourth of July”, is a day for celebration and somber reflection and it should also be a day of fun at the beach or picnics with friends and family. It is fireworks and speeches and photo ops for politicians and it is a day to pause in the celebrations and reflect on those who paid for this right, the right to freely assemble and celebrate the Fourth of July, the day that The Second Continental Congress officially ratified our Declaration of Independence." - Douglas Hatch #IndependenceDay #FourthOfJuly #Patriotism #Freedom #DeclarationOfIndependence #AmericanHistory #CelebrateFreedom #HonoringHeroes #FamilyFun #Fireworks #RememberingSacrifice #FoundingFathers #USA #History #Patriots #July4th #AmericanSpirit #Liberty #FreedomFighters #BeachDay #Picnic #FamilyTime #AmericanRevolution #USHistory #Heroes

Volunteer Spotlight: Angie Georgopoulou Angie started volunteering at Canyon in January 2024, dedicating her time to the Memory Care Unit. Her favorite part of volunteering is the impact she has on her sweet friends, seeing them light up and eagerly share their days with her. Initially motivated by her nursing school requirements, Angie’s desire to volunteer deepened as she experienced the profound need for friendship and care among the residents. She now volunteers to show them that someone truly cares and that they matter. Through her volunteering, Angie has learned that everyone needs a friend to talk to, a simple yet often overlooked need. This lesson has been particularly valuable, as it highlights the importance of companionship, especially for those who feel alone. Angie advises new volunteers to be patient, understanding that volunteering has its ups and downs. Patience and consistent presence can make a significant difference, not only for the residents but also for the volunteers themselves. A fun fact about Angie is that she was born and raised in Greece and moved to St. George, Utah, during her freshman year of high school, where she has loved living ever since. #VolunteerSpotlight #MemoryCare #MakingADifference #VolunteerLife #CommunityCare #CompanionshipMatters #NursingStudent #UtahVolunteers #FriendshipAndCare #CaringForOthers #VolunteerAdvice #GreekAmerican #StGeorgeUT #GivingBack #VolunteeringJourney #PatienceAndCompassion
