CANVAS for Disaster Recovery and Resilience

CANVAS represents a diverse coalition of grassroots organizations and individuals experienced in disaster mitigation, preparedness, and recovery dedicated to working directly with communities impacted by wildfires, tropical storms, flooding, wind events, and more. We advocate for the enhancement of recovery and resiliency by listening locally, thinking globally, acting regionally, and reforming nationally by: 1) Community-led and strategic planning efforts; 2) Utilizing best practices, innovative technologies, certifications, codes and standards; 3) Establishing a direct dialog with federal, state, and local governments; 4) Increasing equity of access to funding and resources; 5) Building cross-sector collaborations via public-private-nonprofit partnerships that enable communities to better prepare, respond, and recover from natural disasters.
