In 2015, 196 Parties signed The Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Since then, countries have collectively failed to mobilize the funding necessary to address climate change—an estimated $100 billion annually. Yesterday, the UN Climate Change Conference COP29 (29th Conference Of Parties) got underway in Baku, Azerbaijan, to discuss how we can do better. CANOPY is committed to reducing our carbon footprint. In 2023, we became carbon-positive by partnering with CNaught to remove more CO2 from the atmosphere than is generated through operations and Members’ daily commutes. Ocean comprises over two-thirds of the Earth, yet humans have only explored 5% of our waters. Women represent more than half the population, yet the National Institute of Health allocates just 10.8% of its budget to women's health research (Forbes). It's time we put our dollars behind our priorities!
