Designed by our?Yazdani Studio of CannonDesign, the Resnick Sustainability Center is a makerspace for climate science that stands out for its inspiring design, use of mass-timber, creative prototyping and innovative design. #AccelerateAction is this year's theme for tomorrow's International Women's Day, and we are highlighting organizations CannonDesign's Open Hand Studio has worked with over the years that advance this theme. Our ongoing collaborations with JAMAA BIRTH VILLAGE, One Safe Place and Project Chirag will be shared with the firm during a virtual forum this month, where representatives from each organization alongside a CannonDesign partner will share the mission and impact of their services as well as ongoing projects. In tandem with this forum, our Women@CD Employee Resource Group organized a t-shirt and tote bag fundraiser with a design created by our graphics team to benefit the three organizations represented. We are proud to support their work and missions.

We are excited that our Chief Information Officer, Brooke Grammier, is speaking at the upcoming Egnyte Global Summit about the Innovation Design Consortium (IDC). The IDC enables collaboration that supports the development of technology platforms that promote and improve technology and tools for the architecture, engineering and construction industry.

Blue Cottage of CannonDesign's Ben Bassin, MD was part of a 27 author panel representing clinical professionals, architects, engineers and clinician methodologists with expertise who developed the recently published Society of Critical Care Medicine 2024 Guidelines on Adult ICU Design. These optimal design strategies were written by those who are also practicing and working to make ICU spaces better for all, and contain recommendations in five themes: ICU layout, room design, infection control, infrastructure and staff space. It unites student housing, experiential spaces and entrepreneurial learning, all in the name of positive social impact. The building acts as a "nerve center" to empower current and future generations of social impact entrepreneurs.
