The conversation on the hemp vs marijuana continues.

You are being propagandized with hemp/MJ "civil war" rhetoric. (My previous post was shadow banned so let me try this again) While I find the concept of a cannabis "civil war" ludicrous I realize people are being highly influenced by media from the "intoxicating hemp" industry. So allow me to break it down. Propaganda: the civil war rhetoric is straight out of the recent right-wing playbook. It appeals to the populist notion of a class struggle - An oppressed group (hemp) is being subjugated by a corrupt government (MJ). Inflammatory, aggressive, and often even violent rhetoric is used to increase division and choose "sides". When in reality "intoxicating hemp" and marijuana have been selling similar (d9 vs d8) or identical (THCa hemp) products. We all are influenced by propaganda. Learning to apply skepticism will help navigate the CANNABIS industry - which includes both.

Post election there are a lot of hot takes about the future of federal cannabis legislation. Thanks to Marijuana Moment for summarizing what we know thus far... and it doesn't look good. What do you think? Are the election results good or bad for cannabis policy reform?

If you haven't noticed, cannabis is at war with itself. Marijuana is taking hemp to task over safety issues. But, the health risks of Δ8-THC and other hemp cannabinoids are comparable with those already present in the regulated marijuana market. If marijuana products and their inherent risks are tolerable, why should hemp-derived cannabinoids be treated any differently? The simple answer: this isn’t about public safety—it’s about stifling competition. Read the full discourse here: https://lnkd.in/gyfXUs3Y #cannabis #hemp #compliance #FDA

Controversial opinion: cannabis doesn’t actually smell like Skittles, Fruity Pebbles, or mangos. While it produces many of the same terpenes found in these fun flavors and can have very slight reminiscent notes, the plant itself doesn’t produce an exact match to these strain-namesake aromas. Kicking off our new terpene-focused series today with the fundamentals of terpenes vs. flavors and why it matters for your formulations (hint: its a compliance issue). https://lnkd.in/g2w5mUyV Written by: Jessica McKeil #terpenes #flavors #calicompliant #cannabisindustry #compliance #vapes
