Southern California has been grappling with wildfires throughout the summer, with the past several days being particularly challenging. Thousands of people have been displaced, either temporarily or long-term. Our team also had to evacuate for a short time. While there was no immediate danger, the risk was high enough that keeping the dogs overnight at our facility was not advisable. The CST staff stepped up, taking many dogs home for the night. However, when we realized we had more dogs than available homes, we needed a quick solution. Briarcliff Pet Resort in Menifee graciously helped house three of our dogs temporarily. Despite being after office hours, Valerie Nunes-Atkinson and her team were there to greet the dogs without hesitation. We are deeply grateful to Valerie and her staff for providing peace of mind during such a hectic time.
