Cancer Bridges supports those impacted by cancer through a variety of free programs and services.

关于我们

Cancer Bridges provides a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who has been impacted by cancer. This includes those with a cancer diagnosis, those who have a loved one with cancer, or have experienced the loss of a loved one due to cancer. The diagnosed, family, friends and caregivers who support them are welcome to join Cancer Bridges and receive the social, emotional, and informational tools they need. Formerly Our Clubhouse and Cancer Caring Center, the organizations joined forces to better serve those impacted by a cancer diagnosis on September 7, 2021. Separately, the organizations have helped thousands of residents navigate their cancer journey through free social, emotional, clinical and informational support, with roots beginning in the Pittsburgh area 33 years ago. This merger allows greater efficiency and impact for the children, youth, adults, and families we serve.

?? Staff Spotlight ?? Rebecca Whitlinger is our Associate Director! She works on Cancer Bridges' grants, special events, and public relations. She believes it is a privilege to work at Cancer Bridges because "our services really help and that's a wonderful feeling." ? Fun Fact! Rebecca is a former fashion writer with a special story: "I found bridesmaid dresses to be unstylish. My gold sequin gown from 1988 seemed destined for the closet until decided that if I couldn't wear it anywhere, I'd wear it everywhere. I voted in it & wore it for parasailing in Mexico, skiing in Switzerland, riding a camel in Morocco, etc. This quirky hobby attracted national attention & I appeared on the Today Show, Oprah, Good Morning America & in PEOPLE magazine (3 times). "Always a Bridesmaid - 89 Ways to Wear that Gown" was published in 2000 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Cancer Caring Center. The bride remains one of my closest friends and the dress still fits (providing I hold my breath)! We are grateful to have you Rebecca! ??
