?? From a Simple Idea to a Lifeline for Recovery ?? In 1978, Cancer Services launched the Pink Broomstick Program, inspired by love and resilience. When one of our staff members was diagnosed with breast cancer, her husband crafted a broomstick to help her regain movement post-surgery. That simple act sparked a powerful initiative—partnering with local medical centers to create rehabilitative exercises that would help countless others on their journey to healing. Today, the Pink Broomstick? Support Program provides newly diagnosed patients with essential resources, including a pink broomstick, a comforting pink polka dot pillow, and rehabilitation exercises available at PinkBroomstick.org. Patients also receive one-on-one peer support from trained volunteers—fellow survivors who offer guidance, reassurance, and a compassionate ear. ??
