It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health. At both of our facilities, Reno and Carson City, we are here to HELP YOU in many facets of your journey. The Living Well with Blood Cancer program takes place at The Discovery Science Museum in Reno, NV. About Dr. Williams:? Dr. Williams joined Cancer Care Specialists in 2023. As part of the BS-MD Accelerated Medical Program at the University of Nevada, Reno, Dr. Williams received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2013. He matriculated to medical school at the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine and received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2017. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Colorado Denver in 2020 and went on to complete dual fellowships in Hematology/Oncology and Biomedical Ethics at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in 2023. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Oncology.? For Dr. Williams, the needs of the patient always come first. “I will never forget I am treating a mother, a father, a sister, a brother, a child— my patients are far more than just their disease.” He is determined to bring cutting edge therapies to Cancer Care Specialists through his understanding of personalized genetic testing and his experience in designing clinical trials and managing patients on experimental therapies.? Dr. Williams is married and has two children. He enjoys skiing, backpacking, fishing, and trying new recipes in the kitchen. Approximately 100,000 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with melanoma this year, according to the American Cancer Society. A new treatment for advanced melanoma is called tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte therapy (TIL therapy). Dr. James Jakub, a Mayo Clinic surgical oncologist, explains that TIL therapy can be a one-time treatment for some patients diagnosed with advanced melanoma. Learn more: https://mayocl.in/3Tu10xW

Good morning Reno, Carson, and Northern Nevada! This fire we have going here in So. Reno and Washoe Valley is still tremendously large in size and 0% containment right now. It is unreal to see how vicious this fire has grown into; We know so many of our colleagues, friends and family that are evacuated out of their homes as a result of this massive wildfire. You may know this, but just yesterday crews were able to get much more outside assistance and 1st responders to the scene and area!
