🚨 Employee Spotlight 🚨 Cody Cross - 2nd Shift Fabrication Supervisor Cody has been a vital part of our team for 5 years already! We were able to get him onboard during a recruiting effort at the White Mountains Community College where he honed his skills in their Welding Program. It’s been an incredible journey together ever since. Starting as a Welder/Fitter, Cody has risen through the ranks to lead our entire Fabrication team on second shift. He thrives on the satisfaction of seeing a project come together, a passion shared by many of our employees. One of his first projects with us was the Delta Air Lines Terminal upgrades at LaGuardia Airport, a demanding job featuring curved and box girders that required absolute precision. Cody’s favorite project, so far, has been Portal North. Its complexity and challenges make you proud of the work you do! Known for his strong work ethic, leadership skills, and deep industry knowledge, Cody has been nominated multiple times for our Superstar of the Month program. He’s respected not only for his dedication but also for being one of the kindest, most down-to-earth colleagues around, always ready to lend a hand. Cody is also one of our Hometown Heroes, having served in the Army. His time in the service allowed him to live in Italy and travel across Europe. Wow, what a year it's been! Thinking back to the I-95 bridge disaster in Norwalk Connecticut earlier this year, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. It's truly humbling to know that our team at Canam Bridges could play a part in the recovery efforts alongside Yonkers Contracting Company, Inc. and Connecticut Department of Transportation. In the face of such a challenging situation, seeing everyone come together, work tirelessly, and pour their hearts into restoring such a vital piece of infrastructure...it fills me with immense pride. This isn't just about steel and bridges; it's about community, resilience, and the power of collective effort. I feel incredibly lucky to lead such a talented and dedicated group of people who are always ready to rise to the occasion. The Canam Crew Kicking off the New Year with a Safety Refresh🚧🔥 What better way to start 2025 than by prioritizing safety and learning? Nearly our entire plant participated in an all-day safety session from 7 AM to 2 PM, packed with engaging and informative activities: ✅ American Institute of Steel Construction Safety Videos: Kicking off the day with key safety insights. ✅ Fire Extinguisher Training: Three employees extinguished fires under the watchful eye of the Claremont Firefighter's Association. ✅ Rigging Equipment Inspection & Use: A session on safe practices with chains, slings, and wires, expertly led by John Raitt. ✅ Ergonomics Education: Fastenal Company shared tips on workplace ergonomics to keep us moving safely. ✅ Grinder Safety: Walter Surface Technologies highlighted the risks and critical safety practices for grinder use. We wrapped up the day with our production team split into bay-specific groups to discuss top-priority safety measures and identify the tools and resources needed to ensure everyone feels secure and confident stepping onto the shop floor each day.
