关于我们
Founded in 1933, Canal Barge Company, Inc. is a family-owned, independent marine transportation company headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana. The name “Canal Barge” dates back to our early years when we operated one barge exclusively along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. Today we are one of the most diverse marine transportation companies in the country, moving highly valuable cargo to virtually every part of the world. Our greatest strength is in providing dedicated logistics in moving along the waterway between the Gulf Coast and Mid-America. Additionally, using our oceangoing deck barge fleet, we have made port calls on all coasts of the U.S. and foreign port calls in the Caribbean, Central and South America, and even across the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Dedicated to long-term partnerships and tailor-made customer service, Canal Barge enjoys relationships with several Fortune 500 chemical and oil companies, as well as refineries, construction companies, fabricators, public utilities, engineering companies, and the United States Government. Canal Barge is in full compliance with the American Waterways Operators’ Responsible Carrier Program.

Some exciting news from the north! IMT Lemont Shipyard's new drydock, Atlas, and the Illinois Marine Towing Fleet's newest addition, M/V Midwest Challenger, are two new assets that are integral to the Canal Barge Company Family of Companies. We are confident that both assets are well suited to give IMT's customers best-in-class service while providing the IMT team with state-of-the-art accommodations and tools that go above and beyond to better service IMT's area of operations.
Earlier this month we welcomed two new operational expansions to our service offerings, IMT Lemont Shipyard's new drydock, Atlas, and the newest addition to the IMT Fleet, M/V Midwest Challenger. We celebrated this occasion by having The Seamen's Church Institute Anne Reed deliver a blessing upon both assets before their placement into service. With the expansion of our capabilities that these two new assets bring, we are ready to serve our customers and are proud to continue playing an integral role for the U.S. and the U.S. national economy. Thank you to LAD Services of Louisiana, LLC and to Nichols Boat Company for your respective completion of Atlas and M/V Midwest Challenger!
