We’re looking forward to the start of the 2025 CGS Spring CCLT on March 31st. This spring's featured speaker will be Dr. Jason DeJong. Dr. DeJong is a Professor at the University of California, Davis, Director of the NSF NHERI Center for Geotechnical Modeling, and UC Davis lead for the NSF ERC Center for Bio-mediated and Bio-inspired Geotechnics. Jason has developed a variety of in situ, laboratory, and modeling tools, as well as methods for improving data quality and collection, specifically aimed at enhancing the characterization of challenging soils. With over 250 publications and several prestigious awards, he applies research advancements to professional practice. Jason also serves as a technical reviewer for large infrastructure projects and as technical advisor to the ConeTec R&D program. The Canadian Foundation for Geotechnique is hosting a photo contest to collect images related to geotechnical/geological engineering for use in marketing materials. We’re looking for photos highlighting fieldwork, infrastructure, landscapes, or unique aspects of geotechnical/geological projects. How to Enter: Email your photos to?[email protected]?between January 31, 2025, and March 31, 2025. Please include: 1.?????Your name,? 2.?????A brief description of the photo, and? 3.?????The location. Photos must only be those you’ve taken and/or have rights to. Do not submit any copyrighted images. Images must be full resolution and submitted without filters or cropping. Multiple submissions are encouraged.
