Last week at GLOBE Series, we heard from top executives about building a regenerative future for our planet, people, and economy. ? A standout panel with Maya Colombani (L'Oréal), Huma Pabani (TD Insurance),Layalee Ramahi (United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI)), and Kassie McKeown (Cambium Indigenous Professional Services (CIPS) Inc ) explored how businesses must prioritize nature—not just in sourcing and design, but also in long-term value creation. Key takeaways: ?? Nature-first strategies build resilience and shared prosperity. ?? Indigenous communities must be at the forefront as shareholders in environmental efforts. We also joined a workshop with Joshua Goodman (Sobeys), Lisa Ponti (Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP)), and Claire Purvis, SCR (Delphi) to discuss boardroom decision-making and its impact on business, communities, and the planet. Events like this reinforce the urgency of nature-first solutions. Our team is keen to keep driving this work forward through our Smart Forest? solutions across Canada. #GlobexChange #CanadasForestTrustCorporation

Last week, our Founder & CEO, Gary Zed, spoke on a panel with David Pearson, Professor Emeritus (retired), School of Natural Sciences and Don Huff, ECO Strategy on Indigenous-led solutions for climate resilience, moderated by Jonathan Parenteau, Mokwateh. The panel’s discussion underscored the importance of engaging Indigenous communities and leveraging traditional ecological knowledge to combat climate change. For Gary, it was an honour to share the stage with such esteemed experts. He was especially moved by David Pearson’s reminder of the urgency of our climate crisis—reinforcing the need for immediate and meaningful action. The discussion also highlighted that, with the right planning, Canada’s 60 seedling nurseries have the capacity to meet bold national reforestation demands. CFTC is committed to partnering with Indigenous communities to plant and preserve forests, offering the first right of refusal for forestry services and ensuring long-term economic benefits.? Thank you to Neeganii-Iishawin for the invitation and insightful discussion! #ClimateAction #IndigenousLeadership #SustainableForestry JP Gladu BScF MBA ICD.D LL.D
