Check out World Health Organization’s latest policy brief: Antibacterial pipeline trends and recommendations to enhance research and development https://lnkd.in/gu_j9xtU Key points: ?? The antibacterial pipeline is highly fragile. Ninety-three per cent of developers at clinical stage are small biotechnology companies, while vast majority (86.7%) of developers at preclinical are very small, privately funded with limited resources. ?? There is a continued need for innovative new drugs to combat extensively resistant Gram-negative bacteria. ?? More antibacterial oral formulation options are needed. ?? More support is needed in developing non-traditional agents.
