This new ride takes thrill seekers into the heart of Wonder Mountain where fire and ice combine to blast the train vertical through the mountain’s summit, 50 metres into the sky. Riders will race across tracks that span the park, reaching speeds of 115 km/h, flipping and twisting through nine breathtaking inversions. Canada’s Wonderland is teaming up with Food Banks Canada to help tackle hunger in our community. There are approximately 1.9M visits to food banks in Canada in one month, with children representing 33 per cent of those visits. For the month of April, our associates are holding a virtual food drive and everyone is welcome to contribute. Every $1 donated will provide two meals to people facing food insecurity. Our annual Purpose Awards celebrate those associates who consistently go the extra mile to brighten the lives of others - be it our guests or colleagues. This week we were proud to announce our 2024 award winners: Julie Skene, Entertainment Area Manager, Rob Kerr, Lead Hand Rides Electrical, and Melanie Da Silva, Operations Analyst, Food and Beverage. The park had 39 nominees in total and all were celebrated for their kindness, collaborative nature, and genuine care for those around them. We celebrated Black History Month in the park's kitchens with our talented Sous Chef Antoinette! She led cooking classes with associates, showing them how to make her signature jerk chicken, plantain fritters and bean stew. Guests will have the opportunity to try more of Antoinette's amazing food this season when we open May 3!
