Building communities where children are free from abuse and neglect.
关于我们
The CAN Council serves Arenac, Bay, Huron and Saginaw counties through the following programs: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are highly trained volunteers serving as the voice for children who are in the court system due to abuse and neglect. Each CASA volunteer advocates on behalf of one child or sibling group at a time. These volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the children are placed in a safe, permanent home. Children’s Advocacy Centers (CAC) provide a safe, supportive environment in which children who have been physically or sexually abused or have witnessed a violent act can be interviewed and examined. Child Abuse Prevention Education (CAPE) raises awareness of the prevalence of child abuse and neglect and educates K-12 students, parents and professionals providing tools to ensure a safer community for all.

We also had the chance to share about CAN Council’s work and the difference community support makes. Your kindness helps us continue our mission—thank you for your support! We’re still accepting blanket donations for our kiddos! Call (989) 752-7226 to schedule a drop-off!

CAN Council’s Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) provides a safe, supportive space for children involved in abuse investigations. Our trained professionals conduct forensic interviews while Child Protective Services and law enforcement observe from a separate room. This ensures children only share their experience once, reducing stress during an already difficult time. Last year, our CAC supported 612 families. With your donation to CAN Council’s End of Year Appeal, we can reach even more children and families in 2025. Your support helps us provide advocacy, protection, and hope to those who need it most. Our CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program is dedicated to giving children in our community's legal system a voice. CASA volunteers are specially trained individuals appointed by the court to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. They take the time to get to know the child and provide thoughtful recommendations to the court, ensuring every decision supports the child’s well-being and future. ?? Want to make a difference in a child’s life? Consider becoming a CASA volunteer. To learn more and apply, visit cancouncil.org/casa. Every child in our community deserves a trusted advocate—and you can help make that happen. If volunteering isn’t possible, you can still make a lasting impact by donating to our End of Year Appeal. Your gift helps ensure that children in our community have someone in their corner! Make a donation here ??https://lnkd.in/gWzQjBYb

At CAN Council, we are committed to protecting children from abuse and neglect while supporting families across Bay, Arenac, Saginaw, and Huron counties through education, intervention, and advocacy—at no cost to families. Our work is anchored in four core programs: the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), the Rolling Family Resource Center (RFRC), and our Child Abuse Prevention Education program. Each program plays a crucial role in ensuring children are safe, healthy, and empowered. In the weeks ahead, we’ll highlight the impact of each program and how you can be part of the difference. Stay tuned! Learn more about CAN Council here: www.cancouncil.org
