Thank you to Dr. Kenneth Johnson for leading yesterday’s insightful Rural Conversation! Dr. Johnson joined us from the UNH Carsey School of Public Policy to present his research on rural demographic trends at the state and national levels. His discussion reshaped our understanding of rural communities, highlighting how the definition of “rural” evolves with each census. His research on New Hampshire’s recent population trends revealed an uneven pattern of growth and decline, noting the implications this creates for rural school systems and communities.
