We are immensely grateful to the Waidner family for their steadfast commitment through our monthly giving program- Camptown CORE, which helps us build a brighter future for youth through outdoor adventure. For Philip Waidner, Camptown was more than just a fun extracurricular activity—it became the foundation for a lifelong passion and career in outdoor recreation. Growing up, Philip was naturally inclined toward backpacking thanks to his background with the Boy Scouts, so joining the Camptown-led Carmel Backpacking Club felt like a perfect fit. It was here that he met Danny Wright, a Camptown program leader who became a key mentor, encouraging Philip’s love for the wilderness and helping him realize that his passion could be more than a hobby—it could be a way to make a career, support a family, and create a lasting impact. -Want to know what Philip is doing now? Take me home, country roads ?? ?? We had action packed fall break adventures this October! Climbing, hiking, and skipping rocks with Christel House Academy South, Lawrence North High School Trailblazers, and our Youth Leaders were some highlights we wanted to share, not to mention the GORGEOUS weather! ?? Youth Leaders experienced the second outdoor climbing trip in the Red River Gorge Camptown has offered this year! We’re excited to offer high adventure options in our programs for older kids who want to push the limits of their comfort zones. Almost every time we climb, there are great stories of kids being nervous at first and then proud when they’re able to face their fears! Thank you to the rest of our awesome team for making this possible, and thank you to you for supporting us!

Summer is certainly our busiest time of the year, and that only makes us love it even more! We remember the eclipse like it was just two days ago! ???? We had an incredible time yesterday at Riverside Park-Indy Parks and Recreation celebrating the eclipse with our Camptown family! We crafted ??????, performed science experiments ?? , blew bubbles ??, and enjoyed the beauty and majesty in community. ????????
