Meet Idris T., one of our Campos scholars from CU Denver College of Engineering, Design, and Computing. Campos Foundation does what we can to support bright students. But, in the end, it is all about self-advocacy. Idris T. requested a meeting with Marco Campos and got it. He made sure that his name is top of the list for students willing to volunteer to tutor other students. We admire his initiative and know he is a shining example of a student who is going to reach his potential. ??

Yesterday, our Campos Denver team made lunch for students and staff at The Denver Street School. It was a pleasure to serve kids there who are looking for an education when the traditional system has not worked. The school is cozy and welcoming and a great alternative for these deserving students. Great work from our Denver team and special shout out to Kelly Rhoades, P.E. for her work in connecting us with The Denver Street School and organizing the event. ??

Our Campos Tampa team recently had the pleasure of hosting A Kid's Place of Tampa Bay, Inc. at Elev8 Fun. A Kid's Place of Tampa Bay, Inc. provides residential services to kids from birth to age 18, who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. This fun event gave 25 kids a chance to relax with go karts, laser tag and mini golf. Thank you to Jay LaPenna for your work in organizing the event. ??

I have had the honor of attending a lot of amazing events in STEM, but this one takes the cake. Today, I was invited to an event hosted by The JEKL ORGANIZATION For STEAM Education which connected students via a live satellite link to the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration International Space Station. Our viewing room was full of engineering and medicine hopefuls from DSST Public Schools. They were able to ask astronauts Suni Williams and Nick Hague questions about life in space (which they answered so thoughtfully). As a DSST Public Schools partner, we could not be more proud of these students.Thank you Andrew M. for the invite and the opportunity to see how incredible the DSST Public Schools community is!??

Kicking off the week with impact! ?? Campos EPC and Campos Foundation had the privilege of engaging with over 1,000 students (9th—12th grade) from Orange High School, inspiring the next generation of engineers. Our team shared insights into diverse engineering fields, discussing the paths and coursework needed to enter these exciting careers. Students were eager to connect with our engineers, ask questions, and even had a chance to win Campos swag! With Orange High’s student body being 85% Hispanic and many from low-income backgrounds, Campos EPC is committed to creating opportunities for all students to explore professional STEM pathways. We’re proud to support these young learners and demonstrate that there’s a space for everyone in engineering. #STEMeducation #DiversityinSTEM #CamposEPC #OurPeopleAreOurPower
