  • Are you launching a summer program? Now is a great time to connect with us about how to streamline + automate your program experience!

CEO of Campground: Program Data in One Place [ex-Bain, founder of FutureMap, interim CEO All Raise]

We have less than 90 days before summer programs launch. What does this look like for most of us in the thick of this work right now? 1?? Finishing up application review, selection, and comms 2?? Tightening up the program design, onboarding steps, curriculum 3?? ???? Starting to realize you’ll need a way to manage the actual program experience (where to post resources and events, track milestones and completion of tasks, send surveys, somehow track attendance...) In all the summer programs I've ever worked on, I spent so much time up front getting through recruitment and program design. I was almost out of gas by the time the actual summer came around. The program experience was almost an afterthought, just something I managed to execute through immense manual effort and organizational skills.? But here's the thing. Every time I ended up simply trying to replicate the last year’s mess of Notion, spreadsheets, Google Forms, Asana, Zoom attendance, and Airtable, “future me” had a heck of a time putting together all my metrics at the end.?Not to mention, participants would bug me with the same questions over and over again because so many important details were buried in my organized, too-long emails that no one read. ?? So here's the fun part: I can solve #3 for you in a couple of hours. Seriously, in less than a day, you can have a streamlined program hub and experience all set up, ready to manage all the operations and automate all the data collection. If you're interested, I'd love to talk! And comment if you're a program manager who can relate to the "burnout before the summer even begins" ??♀?

  • Campground unlocked a “self-service” Mentorship Model that saves time for Astrid Arias at SEED SPOT. ?? BEFORE Campground: Unscalable curated matches with choppy engagement SEED SPOT's lean team was spending a lot of time curating 1:1 matches for everyone. Not only was it a huge lift, but only some founders took full advantage of the match; others let the ball drop.? ? ?? AFTER Campground: Scalable mentorship model Founders and mentors can find each other in the Directory and use an automated, double opt-in process to connect. No more manual matching and sending email introductions. This means founders who really value the mentorship will engage, and it’s a better experience for both parties. ?? Metrics: Campground tracks the number of connections sent and other analytics that Astrid needs to provide insights into program engagement. Astrid’s advice to accelerator program managers: “I could have a really crazy toolkit with a ton of analytics or I can take the analytics that I’m actually going to use–engagement analytics, connection analytics–and prioritize the classroom experience for my participants. And, that’s ultimately what led me to Campground. It’s the perfect balance of knowing, as a program leader, what do I need and what will I actually use and then how will this be a seamless and supportive experience that supplements our workshops for our participants.” Within days of launching her first program in Campground, Astrid decided to add another one because “Everyone can get on Campground and figure their stuff out.” ?????

CEO of Campground: Program Data in One Place [ex-Bain, founder of FutureMap, interim CEO All Raise]

This week is AmeriCorps Week, celebrating all the ways that millions of ordinary American citizens contribute to America’s real greatness by dedicating hours of service to their communities. Campground Systems' platform powers the operations of several national service programs. Today I’d like to highlight the American Connection Corps. Their mission is to recruit and place service members in digitally disconnected communities, promoting initiatives like digital skills classes, distributing devices, and helping folks apply for the American Connectivity Program. Because we’ve worked hand in hand with so many of their team members to build out their CRM and program management systems, I have a unique perspective on HOW they do this work. They lead in-person convenings of all their members, promoting networks, creating a sense of pride and identity. They’ve curated an amazingly active Alumni Advisory Board. They invite their service members to co-present with them at conferences as thought leaders. They pilot new digital skills training approaches. They partner deeply, not confining their work to just the digital but also embracing where that intersects with countless other community needs, like the 144 individuals they helped receive opioid/drug intervention services or the 177 folks they helped prepare for disasters.? All of that work is incredibly complex to operate and run thoughtfully. I’m honored that the tool we built plays a small role in their mission. We helped take them from spreadsheets and personal tracking systems in Asana, to a unified member record and smooth program experience. Now, their data and incredibly important outcomes can be reported more easily. #AmeriCorpsWorks #PartnerAppreciationDay #AmeriCorps

  • Astrid Arias at SEED SPOT runs accelerator programs for early stage founders. She decided to make the switch from Google Classrooms to Campground to streamline the program experience. Here’s what was happening: Google Classroom was falling short, with a fragmented online classroom experience that left founders saying “I can’t access that” and asking “Where can I find this?” Class time was lost just trying to locate resources. Doubly frustrating was that Astrid wasn't getting the program hub admin capabilities and key data from Google Classroom that she actually needed. At the end of the day, Google Classroom was not doing the job well enough. Astrid did her research and found that Campground provides the perfect mix of a self-service model for founder support and the admin capabilities that she needs to run the program seamlessly.

Scaling learning products | Building high-performing teams | Former School Founder

After years of running programs—from community service organizations in high school and college to founding a school in Camden and scaling apprenticeships at Multiverse (and even a jump rope camp) —I've consistently faced the same challenge: managing program data that powers meaningful participant experiences, efficiently. Every program leader knows the drill: juggling spreadsheets tracking attendance, creating separate rosters for partners, maintaining email lists, and spending hours on manual data analysis that should be automated. And with Meta's Workplace shutting down next year, many nonprofits are scrambling for affordable alternatives. That's why I'm excited to be advising Campground Systems. Founded by nonprofit program managers who've felt this pain firsthand, their platform is specifically designed for cohort-based experiences like training programs and alumni networks. What sets Campground apart is their team's deep program management expertise. They don't just offer software—they provide guidance on best practices and help you anticipate challenges before they arise. In a funding environment where nonprofits need to stretch every dollar, having a purpose-built solution that increases efficiency while improving participant experience is invaluable. If you're running a program and tired of cobbling together disconnected tools or paying for expensive custom solutions, I'd love to connect! #ProgramManagement #NonprofitTech #WorkforceDevelopment #EdTech #alumni #community

CEO of Campground: Program Data in One Place [ex-Bain, founder of FutureMap, interim CEO All Raise]

Students are already busy and flooded with digital noise. No one wants "just another app" to check every day. And yet those of us running programs need some kind of tech to manage engagement, activities, track data, etc. So how do you get students to engage with your tech platform of choice? First Tech Fund is leading the way with some best practices, with 400+ of their stakeholders on Campground Systems, a platform designed to streamline their Fellow and Mentor experience. We know it’s working when students proactively ask, “Will these resources be on Campground?” Here are the top 4 things program leaders, Kerianne Baylor and Deisy Navarro do to drive student digital engagement, which should be relevant whether you’re using Campground, an LMS, Notion, Circle, or something else! 1.? Introduce participants to the platform live at an upcoming event.? This will only take about 10 minutes and is key to establishing a connection between the platform and the program experience. The FTF team demo’d the platform at their Orientation live. Other actions could be having students complete a task live, such as uploading a profile picture or connecting with someone new. 2. Drive traffic to the platform in a newsletter. First Tech Fund’s weekly newsletter includes a section with reminders about tasks on Campground and available resources from recent events. 3. Share metrics with your participants to encourage engagement. Deisy strategically shares some metrics with fellows to encourage engagement with Campground. For example, “Only 50% of? fellows have completed tasks, so take some time this week to catch up.” 4. “The slides will be on Campground.” When following up after events, let participants know they will find everything that they need at their ‘program hub.’ Train participants to seek out information on the platform first, vs. just sending attachments in an email. Student engagement online is tricky, and our expectations have to be realistic -- no one should expect students to use a program's technology as much as they might use Snap or text. The key is ensuring your platform of choice is very simple; integrating it thoughtfully into all program touchpoints like the First Tech Fund team does; and reinforcing it constantly.
