Peg is a long-time supporter and board member of the Campbell Clinic Foundation, but her appreciation grew after her husband, Tom, tripped on his porch steps and ended up with torn suprapatellar tendons. Tom consulted Dr. David Bernholt regarding his injury, where he learned that one tendon had been completely ruptured and the other was 70% torn. After surgery and a discussion with Dr. Bernholt about how important it was to him to maintain his active lifestyle, it was recommended that he repair the second tendon as well. The Campbell Clinic was honored with the inaugural Institutional Partner Award by the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society, a multicultural orthopaedic society, on Thursday during the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons annual meeting in San Diego. Dr. Fred Azar, Campbell Clinic chief of staff, received the award on our behalf. He also recognized the mentors and leaders dedicated to fostering a more supportive culture in orthopaedics for all physicians and future physicians to excel. Congratulations and thank you! We believe that mobility is a basic human right. One way we work toward that goal is through orthopaedic outreach. ?? During yesterday's Healing Soles clinic with Hospitality Hub, our physicians, residents and The University of Tennessee Health Science Center medical students cared for people experiencing housing instability and provided foot and nail care. Thanks to generous donations from Quality Biomedical | Inc. 5000 Company and Crye Leike Realtors, guests left with new socks and shoes to support health and mobility.

Campbell Clinic Foundation is thrilled to partner with UTHSC to host a new summer orthopaedic internship in 2025. Our goal is to encourage and support undergraduate women who aim to pursue medical education and specialize in orthopaedic medicine. Participants will gain operative and clinical exposure; research experience; networking and professional development; and interaction with current medical students, residents and faculty. The program will run June 16 - July 25, 2025.
