Camp Susque has been working with a group of motivated folks to send RVs down to Tennessee and North Carolina to support families whose homes have been ruined by flooding and landslides from hurricane Helene. So far, 17 families have been supported by this effort, with 4 more campers to deliver in the coming week. To be involved, donate at susque.org/hurricane - to date, over $100,000 has been raised in only a month!

This has annually been an amazing collaboration and fundraiser with Alabaster Coffee Roaster & Tea Company and so many other local businesses and churches. Each cup purchased in November raises $61 for Camp Susque (and gets a free campfire mug!) thanks to these organizations leaning in and supporting Susque. Thanks to all - visit susque.org/coffee to see a list of all the businesses (or to provide some direct support to Susque).

For those of you outside of the Williamsport area that want to participate in our #campfirecapp partnership with Alabaster Coffee Roaster & Tea Company, we have a solution for you. You can purchase an "at home" kit that includes a bottle of smoked Susque maple syrup, a bag of homemade marshmallows, a bag of Alabaster's "Susque Duck Blend" coffee beans, a campfire mug, and more! Visit https://lnkd.in/etv52s7z to order while supplies last.

Thanks for all your help, Grove City College Graduate Programs and Grove City College !
Grove City College graduate and undergraduate students discuss their digital marketing and management achievements: https://lnkd.in/eskX6PHc “While the undergrad students are getting a small taste of real-life work expectations, the graduate students are learning how to manage the incoming workforce,” Juliet Harshbarger said. “As an aspiring leader and manager, the joint class offered valuable insights and opportunities for personal reflection, which overall, helped me identify key areas for growth and improvement in the way I will approach management in the future.”

All month long at Alabaster Coffee Roaster & Tea Company!
Stopped at Alabaster Coffee Roaster & Tea Company after a meeting this morning to get my Campfire Cappuccino to benefit Camp Susque. For each #campfirecapp purchase, $61 will be donated to the camp. Peter Swift

Yesterday Camp Susque and Director Peter Swift were honored at the Central PA Chamber of Commerce annual meeting with an Impact Business of the Year award. State representative Joe Hamm also provided a citation from Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives to honor Susque. A quote from Peter’s acceptance speech as written in this article from the Standard Journal: “When I see a group of community leaders like this, it really reminds me of how much there is more to our roles and responsibilities than the bottom line.” https://lnkd.in/ePUnieyE

Yesterday we had the opportunity to present a check for $41,613 raised by the community to Trout Run Volunteer Fire Company. We are glad for their work in our community and our longstanding partnership with them. Thanks also to Kelly from EQT Corporation for presenting a $5000 check as well! Thank you to Williamsport Sun-Gazette for providing great coverage of the check presentation, as well as of Susque's safety day yesterday. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dW5m4FhG

5 tips to ensure quality camper supervision. 1. Prioritize Camper Safety ? Without this, the rest doesn't matter. 2. Build Positive Relationships ? Supervision is more than keeping kids safe. 3. Foster Growth & Development ? Provide opportunities to learn new skills. 4. Set Clear Expectations & Boundaries ? Make sure these are clear from the very beginning. 5. Encourage Active Participation & Engagement ? Be gentle, and don't force participation. What other supervision tips do you have?
