The Adirondack Lakeside Retreat isn’t just a home, it’s a handcrafted tribute to the region’s rich history and rugged beauty. Chief architect Marc Camens embraced local materials, intricate craftsmanship, and nature-driven design to create a space that feels both timeless and deeply connected to its surroundings. From hand-hewn beams and birchbark details to mahogany paneling inspired by classic wooden boats, every element was chosen to honor the Adirondack spirit while offering warmth and comfort year-round. Chief architect Marc Camens essentially began his career in the magnificent — and challenging — setting of the Adirondacks. As such, he has a deep personal connection to the area and still works there to this day, in addition to the Lowcountry. An incredible example of his most recent work is his Adirondack Lake Retreat, where he transformed the original campsite into a legacy family property across nearly 12,000 square feet of interior space.
