When extreme weather strikes, wastewater treatment plants can face significant challenges. However, the CCMUA is prepared with our innovative biogas and natural gas cogeneration facility! This amazing power source not only reduces our carbon footprint but also allows us to continue treating wastewater independently during grid blackouts. By doing so, we ensure the protection of humans, fish, and wildlife from harmful pollutants and waterborne diseases. CCMUA is dedicated to keeping our waterways clean and our community safe, no matter the circumstances!

Maria has been the backbone of Camden County MUA’s purchasing team for almost 11 years! She’s a pro at finding the best deals and loves the buzz of working with different departments to solve problems. Meet Chinonso "Chi Chi" Chukwueke and Justin Lewis, two bright stars in the Camden County Workforce Development Board's Summer Youth Employment Program! This 8-week program gives youth, ages 16-24, valuable work experience and career pathway opportunities. Chi Chi is gaining hands-on experience in the CCMUA lab, while Justin explores various departments. Kudos to these future leaders!

After 37 years of outstanding service, Linda Doughtery is retiring from CCMUA. From being hired straight out of high school, working in Engineering, to becoming a key part of the Treatment Plant’s daily operations—Linda has seen it all. We’re committed to safeguarding our environment through our Industrial Pretreatment Program. With the authority from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, we oversee the discharge of wastewater from 43 diverse facilities, including launderers, pharma manufacturers, food producers, and hospitals. Our annual inspections and sampling ensure compliance with all regulations, keeping harmful pollutants at bay and maintaining the quality of our biosolids.?

More waves ?? not wipes??. Summer fun is in full swing with the kids home but that also means an increase in the use of “flushable wipes.” But guess what? Those wipes just sit your pipes and clog up the things that SHOULD go down there.
