After 30 remarkable years leading the Cambridge Office for Tourism, our esteemed Executive Director, Robyn Culbertson, will be retiring effective January 1, 2025. Robyn's unwavering dedication and vision have shaped Cambridge into an internationally recognized travel destination, leaving an indelible mark on the tourism industry and our community. Robyn has guided the office through both challenges and triumphs—navigating economic downturns, 9/11, and the COVID-19 pandemic. One of Robyn’s many lasting achievements was her pivotal role in securing the Tourism Destination Marketing District (TDMD) legislation, in partnership with Meet Boston, which significantly transformed the tourism efforts in Cambridge. This legislation, in addition to her relentless dedication, has positioned Cambridge as a premier destination for visitors from around the world. Robyn’s ability to foster partnerships with the City of Cambridge, Cambridge hotels, Meet Boston, the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce (USA), and local business associations has been instrumental in our collective success. In recognition of her extraordinary contributions, Robyn was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce in 2024. While we will deeply miss Robyn's leadership, we are excited to announce that Candice Beaulieu, the tourism office’s current Associate Director, will step into the role of Interim Director as the Board begins the search for a permanent successor. Candice has been with the organization since July 2023, and her commitment and extensive knowledge of the tourism industry will ensure a seamless transition as we continue the mission of promoting Cambridge as a tourism destination. Robyn, we are endlessly grateful for your extraordinary contributions, your leadership, and the friendships you’ve built throughout your career. We wish you all the best in this new chapter and look forward to carrying forward your legacy. With gratitude, The Cambridge Office for Tourism
