We asked over 1,000 US drivers if they use Do Not Disturb While Driving (DNDWD) on their iPhones and Androids two years in a row. Today, 27% of drivers use the safety feature, up from 20% in 2023. While usage is up, awareness of DNDWD is about the same as last year. Our latest analysis dives into the data and highlights the need for more promotion and education about this potentially life-saving feature. Get the full analysis: https://hubs.ly/Q02SY0Xq0

? Pedestrian fatalities at night have dramatically risen in the US since 2009, coinciding with the rise of the smartphone. The New York Times asked CMT to research hourly distracted driving rates. Our research shows that distraction peaks in the early evening hours when people are coordinating post-work activities. In honor of the U.S. Department of Transportation and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA's National Pedestrian Safety Month, we’re raising awareness of the problems facing pedestrians today. We encourage you to put your phones down and stay vigilant on the sidewalks and crosswalks — and educate others to do the same. The Kiefer Foundation was founded in 2016 following the death of Steven Kiefer's son Mitchel, who was killed by a distracted driver. The foundation's mission is to bring an end to distracted driving and all associated crashes and fatalities through three pillars: raising awareness, leveraging technology, and shaping legislation. “I hate to think that people must have a personal story before changing their behavior. I just ask that everyone who reads this article to consider this: Just really stop and think about the loss of a loved one or a life-long injury for yourself or a loved one.” — Steven Kiefer, Chairman of CMT Road Safety Board and The Kiefer Foundation Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eTbddrk2 #DistractedDriving #TheKieferFoundation #JustDrive #DriverSafety
