September is #SuicidePreventionMonth, so the purpose of the media event was to help connect community members with resources. Last week, CalOptima Health attended the grand opening of a new WellSpace at Alamitos Intermediate School in Garden Grove. This new WellSpace is part of CalOptima Health’s School Behavioral Health Incentive Program to invest $25.5 million in mental health school interventions in all 29 Orange County school districts. These efforts are in partnership with Orange County Department of Education, Hazel Health, CHOC Children's and Western Youth Services.? ? The WellSpace is a centralized location on campus that provides students with a safe space to practice social-emotional learning skills and de-escalate mental health concerns. WellSpaces are intended to help students develop resilience, perseverance and adaptability.? ? On Sunday, August 25, CalOptima Health’s Marie Jeannis, RN, MSN, CCM, Executive Director of Equity and Community Health, was inducted into the The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. She will serve in the health education program and will be a part of the Orange County Chapter.? ? Jennis said, “I am deeply honored and humbled to be inducted as a member of the Orange County Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. I am dedicated to supporting the organization’s mission of advocating for and empowering Black women and girls in our community.”? ? CalOptima Health Staff recently toured California State University, Fullerton Project Rebound’s John Irwin House with Doug Chaffee, Vice Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors and Member of the CalOptima Health Board of Directors. The program successfully reintegrates formerly incarcerated individuals through mentorship and education. We welcome the opportunity to learn more about the various supports for formerly incarcerated individuals across Orange County and are pleased to share that CalOptima Health will be implementing a new pilot program that connects incarcerated individuals to Enhanced Care Management services prior to their release to ensure all eligible members have access to the health coverage and coordination services they deserve.? ? #OrangeCountyCA #CommunityHealth #HealthCare #EnchancedCareManagement
