Kudos to Callan's Aaron C. Quach for his participation in this rewarding careers discussion with college students.
It was my great pleasure to discuss Real Estate along with Aaron C. Quach from Callan and my KKR colleague Avivah Hotimsky to students both in person at the University of California, Riverside, and virtually on behalf of the UC Investments Academy (https://lnkd.in/gp632iMs) and The Investment Talent Development Collaborative (https://lnkd.in/gccnAscD, managed by my wonderful colleague Sasha Talcott, CFA). Special thanks to Professor Greg M. Richey for arranging a great in-person crowd despite classes not starting for another week, Jack Zhu for coming down from NorCal to join and Craig Huie, CFA, CAIA for managing the virtual cohort. ? We enjoyed discussing various careers in real estate, how we found our way into the sector and how our careers have evolved into different parts of the industry. We shared the dynamic of how a LP/consultant/manager work together, and from an investment perspective how we identify the RE asset classes and geographies we’d like to invest in, and how we determine what we believe would be the best way to execute our investment thesis. Last, we discussed potential opportunities in the current market environment. ? We were pleased to continue to grow this important initiative off of a successful summer internship collective, and look forward to future events.?
