This Monday, I had the incredible opportunity to attend CalCPA's Debate Camp in Sacramento, where we discussed the future direction of CalCPA and its various chapters. It was an honor to be invited, and I truly felt that CalCPA values the input and perspectives of its student members. I was assigned to the Teardown POV team, where we focused on exploring ways CalCPA could: - Strengthen connection and communication with its members, - Enhance the management of its people and relationships, and - Instill a greater sense of accountability within the profession. At first, I was a little nervous—working alongside seasoned professionals in the industry can be intimidating, and I wasn’t sure if I’d fit in. But those fears quickly disappeared as I found everyone to be incredibly supportive, collaborative, and fun to work with! I was especially impressed by the professionalism, insights, and energy my teammates brought to the table. A huge shoutout to Louise Cochrane, Jeff Stone, CPA, Katy Ayer, and Daniel P. for being amazing teammates and a joy to collaborate with. I learned so much from each of you, and this experience has left me even more excited about my future in the accounting profession. Thank you, CalCPA, for creating such a meaningful and engaging experience. I’m proud to be part of an organization that is committed to growth, collaboration, and the success of its members. #CalCPA #Networking #Leadership #ProfessionalDevelopment #Teamwork
