关于我们
California ReLeaf’s mission is to empower grassroots efforts and build strategic partnerships that preserve, protect, and enhance California’s urban and community forests. Since 1989, California ReLeaf has worked to promote alliances among community-based groups, individuals, industry, and public agencies, encouraging each to contribute to the livability of our cities, public health, and environmental protection by planting and caring for trees. Urban and community forests consist of the trees and vegetation where people live and work, including the trees in yards and along residential streets, in parking lots, along commercial thoroughfares, on school grounds, and in parks and open spaces. With more than 94% of Californians living in an urban area, urban forests are integral to the health and well-being of our communities. California ReLeaf is the only entity that serves all of the community-based urban and community forestry organizations in the state. Our work with local organizations allows us to efficiently gather and disseminate information and resources, while also having a “big picture” understanding of trends, needs, or opportunities. Our leadership and support enable even small grassroots organizations to implement tree planting, tree care, and environmental education projects and programs that improve the neighborhoods, public places, and landscapes of California’s urban and suburban communities.
